Our Story

We hope to offer you a sense of place by showcasing the bounty of the islands we are blessed to call home. From local farm produce, meat and seafood, foraged edibles from land and sea, and local goods made from island crafts people, the abundance and beauty of the San Juan’s is on full display.

Our cocktails are locally foraged, handcrafted and balanced, utilizing in season fresh produce and wild harvested island botanicals. Featuring spirits from local distilleries, our carefully curated libations will surely satisfy and inspire you.


Our Place

Duck Soup is a comfortable country restaurant that serves fresh sophisticated Northwest cuisine. 

Four and a half miles outside of Friday Harbor, Duck Soup is nestled in the woods overlooking scenic ponds. Comfortable booths, a fieldstone fireplace create an atmosphere that is both cozy and elegant.


Since 1978 Duck Soup has offered delicious, lovingly prepared meals, delightful wines, and creative cocktails. The restaurant has received enthusiastic attention from various publications including Bon Appétit, Pacific Northwest Magazine, Seattle Times, Gourmet, Travel & Leisure, and Fodor’s.

We are located halfway between Friday Harbor and Roche Harbor in a small cabin in the woods.
